About Us

Mission Statement

Team Midwest strives to empower elite Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas hockey players to compete at the highest level while remaining connected to their home associations. We are committed to cultivating an environment that prioritizes player development, competitive excellence, and a love for the game — inspiring each athlete to rise to new challenges and achieve success both on and off the ice.

About Team Midwest

Team Midwest is an elite-level competitive hockey program designed to give the top players in the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (MWAHA) the opportunity to compete at the highest level of USA Hockey Tier II amateur hockey. Team Midwest is built around the belief that high-level competition and focused player development go hand in hand.

Under the guidance of a professional coaching staff, Team Midwest provides players with a fast-paced, competitive environment that challenges them to grow their game. Every practice and every game is an opportunity to develop the skills, compete-level mindset, and hockey IQ necessary to perform at the highest levels of the sport.

About the Program

Team Midwest operates as a pre-season and post-season program. The season begins in mid-July with practices and competitive games running through the first weekend of October, at which point players are released to rejoin their respective local teams.

Following the conclusion of the winter season, players reconvene in March to resume practice and prepare for the USA Hockey Tier II National Championships in early April. This structure is intentionally designed so that players never have to choose between Team Midwest and their local program — they complement each other.

Team Midwest players are expected to continue practicing and competing with their home associations throughout the winter season to maintain their development and stay sharp heading into the National Tournament stretch.
