About Team Midwest 18U AA
Team Midwest 18U AA provides elite-level hockey players born in 2008 or 2009 the opportunity to compete at the highest level of Tier II amateur hockey. Based out of Ames/ISU Arena in Ames, Iowa, Team Midwest offers a structured, competitive program led by a professional coaching staff committed to player development both on and off the ice.
The program is designed to complement — not conflict with — players' high school hockey commitments. The season runs from mid-July through the first weekend of October, at which point players return to their respective high school teams for the Midwest High School Hockey League (MHSHL) season. Following the MHSHL season, the team reconvenes in March to prepare for the USA Hockey Tier II National Championships in early April.

Season Structure:
- Mid-July through first weekend of October (pre-season & regular season)
- Break for MHSHL high school hockey season
- March resumption of practices
- USA Hockey Tier II National Championships — Early April
Eligibility Requirements
- Birth years 2008 or 2009
- Must be in good academic standing
- Players are expected to practice and play with their home association during the MHSHL season to maintain and develop their skills throughout the year'
- Players must meet USA Hockey minimum game requirements to qualify for the National Tournament

REQUIREMENT: Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2026-2027 Season.
IMPORTANT: Please review the information on the "Your Account on Crossbar" page before registering your player. Your parent account needs to be established first and you can add the youth player as a participant to that account. Do not establish a separate account in the youth player's name.
